He Danced Into Our Garden
“Show me your ways, O Lord, teach me your paths, guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my savior, and my hope is in you all day long.” Psalm 25: 4-5 NIV
While sitting on our family room sofa during my quiet time with the Lord, I saw His creatures flit, hum, and chirp about our floral garden. His creation dancing through our yard filled my heart with joy and praise for the Lord. I quickly wrapped up my journal notes to the Lord, telling Him I had to get my camera.
When I returned and stepped onto the patio, I was greeted by only silence. I supported my camera against a column holding up the patio roof. Camera on, lens focused, I waited. Nothing. Nothing but bees buzzed around our flaming orange Mexican Bird of Paradise.
Disappointed, I returned to the sofa and continued my prayer time with a devotion and meditation. As I concluded my prayer time, I glanced outside again and dancing through the Lantana was a beautiful butterfly. He was gracious enough to pose for me briefly as he flitted from one flower to another. His wings were constantly flapping. I was amazed the camera shutter was fast enough to catch the wings as if they were still.
In His time, the Lord brought His beautiful butterfly back into my yard to delight me that day. Praise Him!
Oh, praise Him for His beauty! Dancing with the Lord is such a delight for me and He graced you with His creation right there, as you looked up one more time!
What a beautiful butterfly too!

Wow, Janis. This photo is AMAZING. What detail! And the color! God really knows how to dress up his world, doesn’t he?
And I know that the Lord loves your prayer, and making special time for him.
Blessings!

Wow, that was an inspiring moment, and the photo is fantastic. We have lots of yellow lantana around our house. I’ve never seen a butterfly there though. Maybe I haven’t been paying enough attention. I’m glad you shared with us.
Blessings,
Charlotte
Lovely shot, Janis! and an important lesson, too, I think! Always give God our “first fruits” of our time, energy, everything! and He will bless us!
Beautiful photo! Sometimes it’s in the wait that God brings us the most beauty. I’m having to learn that lesson right now in my life!
How wonderful! His timing is perfect, isn’t it? Amen to the scripture – the Lord is truly my hope every single day. Thank you for sharing!
This reminds me of the verse that the Lord is a rewarder of those who seek Him. Great photo.
Hey Janis ~
A sweet gift was given to you. A lovely gift of inspiration you’ve given to us this weekend! And I thank you!
Hi Janis,
Visiting from scripture and a snapshot. This is one of my favorite scriptures. And I love the photo of the butterfly. I hope to take a close up shot of a butterfly one of these days. I invite you to visit me at Judith Riddle Photography.
Blessings,
Judy
what a beautiful photo and beautiful story! <3
Great story and amazing shot! Awesome!
Completely perfect shot you captured! Wow!
The photo you captured is amazing! I’ve had that happen when I leave to grab my camera and the moment is lost. How special though that in its time you got one worth shooting. You blessed me!
Blessings and love,
Debbie
I have often been blessed by the *random* appearance of a butterfly. I take it as a message from the Lord that He is with me. Just yesterday, I ran into town for a couple of things. I decided to call my mom for a few minutes. I’ve been discouraged lately, and she is still my favorite “listening post.” While I was talking, a butterfly flew right by my car window! It was so close. I just whispered in my heart, “Thank You, Lord.”
This was a beautiful picture – quite the *capture* as they say!
GOD BLESS!
What a beautiful photo. I love how God surprises us with His beauty. Good things come to those who wait! Blessings, and thank you for linking up with The Weekend Brew.
Beautiful. I love both the flowers and the butterfly. I always just grin inside and out when I see something like this, either in a photo or in my yard. Thanks.
WHAT a beautiful gift!
