In His Light, We See Light — 16 Comments

  1. Hello Janis

I pray God will be very much with you at this time. I think many of us are experiencing times of darkness at the moment. I am sure Our Lord does not want us to carry guilt, but know sometimes it is difficult not too, leave it at the cross, then return and pick it up again, seems to be the theme for many. Praise God for His Mercy and Praise Him for the Victory we all have over darkness in His Name.

  2. Prayed for you before entering this comment. Know that our God is holding onto you tightly. He is with you. May His light break the darkness.
I am visiting from The Sunday Community.
    Blessings,
    Joanne

  3. Janis – I hope you don’t mind me commenting again. But I just read my devotional & this was the verse that it shared & this post immediately came back to mind….
“Who is among you that feareth the LORD, that obeyeth the voice of His servant, that walketh in darkness, and hath no light? Let him trust in the name of the LORD, and stay upon his God.” Isaiah 50:10
As I read this verse, this is what hit me….There are times, for sure, that the very ones that follow & obey God will feel like they are in darkness, that there is no light. It is those very times that we trust Him – we trust in the dark those things that God showed & taught us when we were in the light!
May you keep holding on & keep trusting Him!

  4. Dear Janis, my first time here. I read this scripture in the NLT version in my devotion this morning. I pray it brings comfort to you.

“So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you have to endure many trials for a little while. These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold-though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.

You love him even though you have never seen him. Though you do not see him NOW, you TRUST him; and you rejoice with a glorious, inexpressible joy. The reward for trusting him will be the salvation of your souls.” 1 Peter 1:6-9

These times of darkness are not permanent…joy will come in the morning and you will see that you will be stronger and will have a testimony. Then you will be able to use that trial to minister to others when they go through something similar.

Praying for you today dear friend. Jesus is near! ♥

  5. Hi Janis! May God come gently to you and open a window to his grace. He will come, and life will be new again.
Praying for your grace to come soon, my friend.

  6. Dear sweet Janis
I know that feeling, but it is all it is; a feeling!! After all I did in my life for which I felt guilty for many, many years, Jesus has delivered me completely. I think the secret lies in submitting your spirit to Jesus and resisting the evil one. He flees quickly once I learned to do just that!
    Blessings x

  7. In the darkness, there remains a light within. I remember a season of life where God had to remind me that the SON is ever present even when the clouds of life circumstances shroud Him. Love that passage from Psalms.

  8. Yup, needing a little *light* in my life lately, too. But, I’m a big fan of SONshine, so that’s where I’m turning my face!

I read this verse in my devotionals yesterday: “If you are walking in darkness, without a ray of light, trust in the LORD and rely on your God.” (Isaiah 50:10, NLT)

    Ah, true comfort.

    GOD BLESS!

  9. Janis, He is there, even though you may not see or feel Him. He is faithful to answer your cry for help. Praying for your strength, peace, and faith in the midst of it all. Hugs, Alison

  10. I understand. My physical issues are driving me crazy, in a way. I’m trying to keep my focus on HIM, and trust HIM for the consequences, able to serve Him, moment-by-moment.

Thank you for sharing so straight-forwardly. Greatly appreciated.

  11. Thank you all for your encouragement in Christ. I really didn’t think I would be hit so hard again. I thought we were riding above the storm with the Lord. Words hit hard and cut deep and I’m in the pit of darkness again.
Thank you for your prayers~I need them most of all.
    Janis
