Life is But A Glance Out the Window — 12 Comments

  1. Interesting… Tomorrow I’m using several of those same Bible verses in my blog post, with thoughts much the same as yours. The events of life (and death) and the reality of my aging make me long to focus on God’s agenda, not mine! Thanks for sharing with us and encouraging us.

  2. Susan~Amazing how those “sayings” you always heard as a child and wanted to ignore prove to have much wisdom.

Linda~I will look forward to reading your post. Aging definitely makes us focus on numbering our days according to the Father’s plan.

  3. Such a good word, Janis. I feel an urgency in the last year of my life – as I look at my age, and the state of the world – to do something of value for the Lord. Sometimes I get down on myself because I think I’m falling short. But lately, God has been speaking to my heart – “Every day that you wake up alive, means that I still have work for you to do.” So, in big things and in small, I am trying to do what I was made to do – GLORIFY HIM!

    GOD BLESS!

  4. I enjoyed reading your post very much. I feel the same way about numbering my days…making the most of the time God has given me. January seems to always be a month of reflection for me, starting a new year. I always ask myself, “what did I do with the last one?”

You mentioned your sons…I have five of my own (no girls). God has given me a heart for boys. You are wise to teach your sons the things you talked about in your post. God bless you and your boys!

  5. It sounds like faithfulness and consistency are main ingredients over the past years in marriage and children! How wonderful and Godlike is that.

I’m so happy you stopped by my place, Janis. It’s great to meet another AZ blogger! I look forward to getting to know you.

  6. The older I get the more I understand how short life really is. Your grandmother was right. When we realize how short this life is and how long eternity will be, why do we worry so much about what goes on here and now? I don’t know the answer to that. I do know we should focus much more on things of the spirit and less on this life.
I hope you are having a good week.
    Blessings,
    Charlotte
