The Real Life (guest post at (in) courage) — 7 Comments

  1. My heart still races as I think about your post–your heart’s message about the homeless and needy. I so firmly believe in the Bible verse you included, and the many others that teach us (require us?) to help the needy. Last night a friend shared with me and some friends about 30 homeless children enrolled in her elementary school and we are now making plans to help. How can we NOT help?!

I’m looking forward to getting acquainted with you and your blog.

  2. Linda,

The Lord has touched your tender heart and it sounds wonderful what he is calling you to do. There are several children in our school district who may have to enter temporary foster care for one reason or another. Teachers have been asked to consider providing a temporary home for these little ones as they tumble through the turmoils hitting today’s families.

So many ways to be Christ to others! We just need to look.

Praise God for the work He is doing in your heart.

  3. Holly,

It has been a privilege and a blessing to share on (in) courage today. Thank you for the opportunity.

You ladies at (in) courage pour out the love and grace of the Lord to all of us who stop by for refreshment.

    From My Heart to Yours,

  4. Wow, Janis, both your blogs really touched me.

We have more than our “share” of homeless here in Portland. For a while, every time I drove down there I’d bring a pbj sandwich to hand out to someone. Ellen even bought a new sleeping bag for a homeless person. She had been praying while walking to campus about how to help someone, and out of nowhere a man came up to her and said, “See that homeless man over there, he needs a new sleeping bag”. She took that as a word from God and bought it.
And as for changes, yes. They never stop. Of all the good ones we’ve had, there have also been challenges. I finally got rid of a coat my mom had bought me almost 20 years ago. There went another link.

Thanks soooo much for your faithfulness in writing about real things. You are blessed with such a gift.

    Marcia
