All Dressed in Worry
“And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and our heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Matthew 6:28-33
In these stressful economic times, it is difficult not to spin worry and anxiety. Finances are tight, fear of losing one’s job runs high, the threat of foreclosure on your home looks more possible with each passing day, and how to provide for your children is more than a mental exercise.
But we have a Heavenly Father who cares for the grass of the fields which is little compared to His love and care for us. We just need to release our worries to the One who will care for us. Time spent seeking the Lord, drawing close to Him in prayer and through His word, asking Him to develop in us a desire for His kingdom will profit us far more than all the worry in which we clothe ourselves.
May the Lord of Heaven and Earth clothe you with His loving kindness and His peace that you may rest carefree in His arms.

He draws me into His arms… the safest place to be.
Beautiful WFW, with such encouraging words.
He reminds me He is sovereign…nothing catches Him by surprise and He will never leave me.
Those yellow flowers in the main picture have come up a lot…..reudabeckia I think…I must find some.
Janis, I saw a church sign that read, “When fear (worry) knocks, let faith answer the door.”
This has really stuck with me. I have to bring each thought to HIM and let HIM take each one captive.

I do believe it’s time to give up that whole “worrying” thing!
This was such a wonderful reflection!

Praise God for always taking care of me.
Thank you, everyone, for your thought filled comments. They have been an encouragement to me and have given me many ways to surrender the worry.
Thank you for stopping by.
From My Heart to Yours,
Janis
What a wonderful WFW! It is still so hard for me to not worry but I have been trying to be a lot better at it and just to give it all to Him and pray for peace in the situation. I may not always understand His ways but I know He will always be there to watch over us and make it all right in the end!
We are so bless to be able give our cares, worries, and burdens to our true and living God. Thanks for sharing God’s word!!
