Breathe–Five-Minute-Friday Prompt
Every week over at Kate Motaung’s Blog, she invites writers to script out their thoughts in five minutes around a one-word prompt. This week it is BREATHE!
“This is the air I breathe~This is the air I breathe. Your Holy Presence living in me.” When I saw the word “Breathe,” this is the song that came to my mind immediately. And why haven’t I been breathing in the air of His Holy Presence every moment of every day throughout this tumultuous season in everyone’s life? I’ve held my breath at times as I struggle through the mire which creates more anxiety as we know from health articles. If my focus was more on the Giver of my every breath, I’d feel the tension in my body relax. My limbs would be pliable and my mind could deduce the words floating through the outer space of my brain.
Breathe, I tell myself. Take a breath of His Presence, meditate on His word, let it be infused in my lungs as my lungs expel the months of tension warring within me. Mmmm. To dwell on His presence in me gives me peace. Breathe in God’s presence and feel the tension seep out of my body.
“And I’m desperate for You.”
Thank you, Lord, for the reminder of that melody and lyrics from long ago by Michael W. Smith.
From My Heart to Yours,
