God Makes the Way
Warm desert breezes mingled with the fragrance of citrus blossoms. Normally, I would be standing in our yard inhaling the luxurious scent from our orange and lemon trees but this year, the heat is driving me indoors, robbing me of a springtime joy.
My spiritual life mirrored this perplexity in nature as a time of rejoicing in the Lord was clipped by the rising temps in my surrounding circumstances. Evil was making its move to rob me of the joy the Lord came to deliver–just like the delicious scent of our citrus blossoms.
Then, today, a song began drifting through my mind returning me to the early days of my walk with the Lord. I looked it up and the words washed comfort and peace over me like the waters rippling over bridges in our desert oasis of Sabino Canyon. Yes, “God will Make a Way,” written by Don Moen filled my heart and senses and confirmed the word I had read in John 17.
Jesus is praying to His Father for His disciples and us: “My prayer is not that you tkae them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one.” John 17:15
I so desperately needed to see that the enemy of my soul was taunting me with circumstances to steal away the joy given to me by Jesus. In Him and His word, I once again felt peace wash over me.
Below is an embedded version of Don Moen’s song, “God will Make a Way.” Be refreshed.

God Will Make A Way
Janis, I had to come over to see what song you were sharing 🙂 Oh how I had loved this song years ago. It’s truths just as powerful today as they were then! May you stand firm on God’s promises when the enemy comes to taunt you. As I read your post, Psalm 107 came to mind. May the words of that psalm bring you assurance that our God is good and He is faithful. His love for you will endure forever! xo
Thank you, Joanne, for Psalm 107. I will read it today. I’m glad the song blessed you!
Love, Janis
Such encouragement for me today! My blog is taking a huge leap this morning and I am both nervous and excited. I am constantly praying that my heart will be fully surrendered to God no matter the outcome and I SO needed this message this morning! Thank you!

I cling to these truths as our family is struggling through a pretty barren season.
Barbie,
Thank you for visiting. God strengthens and encourages us through each other. I’m so grateful for our group of writers who are transparent with their lives as they help others through the barren times.
