God’s Gracious Blessings
The Lord said to Moses, ‘Tell Aaron and his sons, “This is how you are to bless the Israelites. Say to them
‘”The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”‘
So they will put my name on the Israelites, and I will bless them.” Numbers 6:22-27
When I read these words, my heart was overjoyed to know how much God desires to bless us. The Israelites were being given God’s strict orders for the conduct of their lives yet God did not want to burden them with heavy laws alone. Above all, He wanted them to know how much He loved them and how He desired to bless them. The depth of God’s heart is found in the conclusion of His words in this chapter. His blessing would not only make His peoples’ faces light up with joy and peace but it would put His very name on them!
Have you thought about how wonderful His blessings are? They imprint us with His very name. We carry His name, His very presence with us, as we are showered with His blessings.
Let’s rejoice today in whatever circumstances we find ourselves for our great God loves us enough to stamp us with His blessed name.

Janis, so funny you would share this as I read these very verses just yesterday. I loved that God not only told Moses to speak blessing over the Israelites but told him exactly how to do it. May we remember our God speaks blessings over our lives. And may our words speak blessing over the lives of our families and friends as well. Glad we were neighbors this morning 🙂 Blessings!
There is something that thrills in my heart when I read verses that say I am *sealed* by the Holy Spirit for the day of salvation! It’s good to be known, by name, by the Almighty God! Very, very good.
GOD BLESS!
And He never changes — He wants us to know He loves us in the 21st century. That’s a thought to hang on to! So thankful you reminded me of God’s blessing today. ~Pamela
Those are such joy filled words. Thanks for sharing.
It really is such a blessing to carry God’s name and to have his face turned towards us! Thanks for sharing these thoughts! (and for visiting my Scripture and a Snapshot)
“The Lord bless you and keep you” I always get stuck right there. It satisfies me. Deeply. I love this scripture. Thanks for reminding me to keep reading, there’s so much more. Thanks for linking up with #GiveMeGrace Janis!
