A Mother’s Day Extravaganza — 18 Comments

    • Hi Lisa,
Vicki shows us that it is possible to include the little ones in a cooking adventure. Knowing how to simplify the methods and patiently teach the children gives them a love for cooking and treasured memories.
By the way, your last name is my maiden name. On Facebook, I go by Janis Russo Van Keuren. We’ll have to chat sometime.
      Blessings,
      Janis

  1. This is such a treasure filled post. I hope to be a grandma someday and can’t wait to be hands on. Not sure about the cooking but you never know. Thank you Janis for sharing Vicki with us.

    • I’m with you, Mary. Can’t wait to be a Grandma and love and hug those little ones. Thank you for stopping by, Mary.
      Blessings,
      Janis

  2. Loved this one – will go and look up Cooking with woo woo – always looking for new ideas for dinner – love you

    • Yay, Patcee!!! You’re still getting my posts–when I write. Cooking with Woo Woo is on Facebook. Let me known if you would like me to send you any recipes. Did you see my Meatball Stroganoff one? I’ll have to publish that and send it to you.
So happy to see you here.
      Love you, too.
      Janis

  3. What a sweet thing to do for those moms! And it reminds me that I need to get my plans ready for cooking with my own kids this summer! Making a PB&J should not be the extent of their culinary skills 😉

    Thanks for a wonderful story.

    • Thank you, Katie, for stopping by! I’m glad Cooking with Woo Woo’s story inspired you for some kitchen adventures with your children this summer. Have a Blessed Summer!

    • Thank you, Mari-Anna Stainacke for visiting. Yes, Vicki is a blessing to her children’s and their friends’ parents. She loves doing this and it comes so naturally to her. Her love for teaching and leading children is showcased here.
      Blessings,
      Janis

  4. Oh those sweet faces…so eager to cook with their grandma. I miss those little faces. I hope I’m the kind of “woo woo” you are, Vickie. One who spends time with them and helps shape their little lives. Sweet (and yummy) post. Thank you for sharing Janis and Vickie. Great to connect with you. ((hug)) — Janis, I noticed your link didn’t come through on my site for some reason. Perhaps you could try it again? If you’re having troubles with it, let me know and I can link it for you, if you’d like. — Hope you both had a beautiful Mother’s Day. ((hug))

    • Brenda, you’re so thoughtful! Vicki is amazing! If I can be half the grandma she is, when my time comes, I’ll be thrilled!
Thank you, we both had wonderful a Mother’s Day. Hope you did, too.
I’ll stop by your site again. I did have some trouble linking up.
Be sure to find “Cooking with Woo Woo” on Facebook.
      Blessings,
      Janis

    • Amy, I remember doing this occasionally with my little guys and I loved it. Can’t wait to have grand children and experience it at a new level!
      Thank you for stopping by.
      Blessings,
      Janis

    • Hi Cynthia,
So glad you stopped by. Vicki does enjoy working with her grand kids one day a week in the kitchen. And sometimes, it’s easier to get the grand kids to cooperate than our own kids. There’s a pleasing factor in there that works well.
      Blessings,
      Janis

  5. This is such a beautiful story, and I am so grateful for the grandparents to my children. They have played such an important part in their life and in my own. So glad you shared this on Fresh Market Friday!

    • Hi Crystal,
I’m so glad you enjoyed the story about my friend Vicki. She has quite the weekly adventures at “Cooking with Woo Woo.” Looking forward to contributing more link-ups at Fresh Market Friday. Thank you for visiting.
      Blessings,
      Janis
