Resting in His Autumn Artwork

Resting in the stillness of my favorite season of the year. It seems so natural to connect with Jesus as the crisp air tickles the leaves and the signs of frost paint rich hues across the landscape. For just a few moments, we slow our pace before the rush of holiday madness siphons us into its dizzying cyclone.
Here beneath a cozy throw, I imagine the changing scenery on a mid-western day and gaze upon the dance of its colors across the decorations in our home. A pumpkin candle flickers warmth and scents the room with the delights of oven-baked goodies.
I’ll linger in this season just a little longer and refresh my soul in the goodness of the Lord.
Just a short post today among my shortened version of the 31 days of writing. Tomorrow, the continuation of God’s calling in my life.

From My Heart To Yours,
You set a lovely scene, Janis! EnJOY your weekend!
Thank you, June. I hope you had a beautiful autumn weekend as well!
Lingering with you in this beautiful season. Have a blessed weekend.
Hi Barbie, Hope you are doing better and finding rest and purpose in what God is doing in your life during this unexpected season. Will lift up some prayer for you.
Blessings,
Janis
It was truly a beautiful fall day here in Chicago. As I walked with a friend this morning we commented on the beauty of the season . . . just love the colors! Blessings to you, friend.
Wish I could have been walking with you, Beth. I’ve only seen rich autumn colors once when we drove up the East Coast through Vermont in September. So beautiful even though all of the trees had not turned yet. Maybe someday I will have a chance to visit you and drink in the beauty of Chicago–I’ve only been there for our son’s Navy boot camp graduation.
Blessings,
Janis
