Spinning with Celebration
Whirling round with joy, round as the plate that celebrates the moments of our family life. What set this joy of celebration spinning? A round red plate–a gift from friends–declaring that “You are special today.” Special for a thousand reasons.
a birthday
the first day of kindergarten
that first solo swim
the report card gleaming with a hard-earned “A”
making the team, the winning game
the game that wasn’t won but hard-fought
the start of school
the county fair ribbon
a brave recovery from surgery
science fair projects
a job well done
the start of a new job
a day that didn’t go so well
Memories spinning through our lives. A round red plate passing the joy from one generation to the next. A round red plate to remember all the goodness that has touched our lives from the Father’s hands.
“Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them slip from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them.” Deuteronomy 4:9 NIV

What a sweet gift from your friends. And I love your words on spinning here, Janis — nicely done.
@Michelle~Thank you for your visit and special comments. I wonder if those friends ever knew how many memories they would help solidify in our hearts and minds when they gave us the plate?
@Faith, Hope, and Cherrytea,
Shalom for you as well. May your New Year celebrations be filled with joy from the Lord.
From My Heart to Yours,
Janis
