Magic Cookie Bars
With only a half hour left of Friday, I’m finally getting around to posting the recipe for the cookie bars that I made last weekend. Our church is the process of raising funds for our annual trip to Mexico where nearly 100 members join forces with AMOR ministries south of the border and build 4 houses for families living in poverty. One of the ways we raise the monies is through our bake sales.
Now baking desserts is a cause I can really get behind–even on my diet (it did not make a dent in pounds lost 🙂 Known as Magic Cookie Bars, the recipe has been slightly adapted by a friend of mine and it tastes even better than the original. You can bake them with or without nuts. Hope your family enjoys them as much as our church family did. Happy munching!
Pour the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the crumbs.
Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the milk.
Sprinkle the coconut over the whole mixture.
Top the mixture with pecan chips or chopped walnuts, or no nuts at all. Bake for 20-25 minutes, just until lightly golden brown on top. Cool, refrigerate, cut, and enjoy.

These cookies look so good and not too hard to make. Thank you for sharing the recipe. I think I will make these for our next potluck at work.
Blessings and love,
Debbie
Oh my, Janis! These sound like a cookie from Heaven! All my favorite ingredients–chocolate, coconut, pecans, Nabisco Honeymaid graham crackers (you are right about them having the best flavor)–all held together with Paula Deen’s favorite–a stick of butter! And so simple, even I could make these! Thanks for sharing!
Have a blessed weekend!

Janis, my friend, I feel your pain! But we hang in there and keep trying to get those pounds off! Not by eating these delicious magic bars, for sure! Thank you for posting this recipe. I would certainly support your fundraiser if I lived near. I can get behind the project in prayer!
Wishing you a great weekend.
Blessings,

These are one of my favorite although I haven’t made them for a long while. Tempted to do so now!!!
Ah, the delicious Magic Cookie Bars. Evidently the *magic* happens with a little help from those talented little Janis hands! It must be magic, after all – for I am drooling over the smell of these cookies out here IBL (in Blog life).
Gotta go – I feel the need for chocolate.
GOD BLESS!
