Resting in His Presence
Let the ocean waters wash over me carrying my stress into its foaming waves. Here with the roar of the crashing sea at my feet, I find the still presence of my Savior and the rest He brings for every care. His promises refresh my soul like the rhythmic washing of the sand carving new images, new designs within my mind and heart. My toes scrunch the moist, moldable sand and I dig deep into this serene moment.
Here I rest in His peace.
“Who is a God like You who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of His inheritance? You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy.
You will again have compassion on us; You will tread our sins underfoot and hurl all our iniquities into the depths of the sea.” Micha 7:18-19 NIV

I think I shall just rest here for awhile. Just beautiful and peaceful, Janis. Thank you for this. Blessings to you on this Sunday.
Oh Beth, please do rest here awhile. You are welcome to hang out anytime. We can share a cup of coffee and just enjoy God’s beautiful creations.
Blessings,
Janis
Rest seems to be something that has been on my mind a lot lately. As I look back at my recent blog posts for Heart Choices, they all seem to be on this topic. And yet, my life has been so very busy. Working many more hours than normal with no break from end of school to summer camp, it’s been a world wind. I’m craving quiet and rest. But I do love my early morning quiet times. If I didn’t make time for that, it would be so different. I’m learning to trust the Lord even when life is busy.
Blessings and love,
Debbie
Janis, I am so glad that you had this chance to find some serenity. Carmel is beautiful, isn’t it?
I’m afraid that I’ve been out in the surf of life, tossed this way and that, trying to keep my head above water. The storms of life have been *busy* lately!! May God give me the strength to crawl up on shore for a bit – I need the time to just sit next to you!
GOD BLESS!
Oh, Janis, I can just feel that beautiful Pacific’s ebb and flow upon your feet and right up into your mind and heart. Having lived on the west coast so much of my younger life, and then spending so much time at the beach, I am reminded of the feelings I had, the thoughts that came to mind, the strength and power that God showed me through His creation. Thank you for sharing for I felt a piece of what you actually are experiencing. Glad I followed you back from your “follow”.

Thank you Janis. I just read in Mark 6 where Jesus desired for his disciples to get alone with him and rest (31). Fascinating chapter Mark 6 … the folks in Jesus’ hometown reject him … Jesus sends his twelve apostles to preach, deliver, and heal … Jesus’ cousin is killed … the apostles return … let’s get away and rest … people press him for help … Jesus feeds 5000 … Jesus walks on water … Jesus makes a special trip to heal people. Rest is something everyone needs, bless you for having the opportunity to rest. Lee Escobedo
Hi Lee, I’m sorry I didn’t check back here for a few days and missed your comment. While I long for rest, right now the only rest I have is the photos of the days hubby and I were up in Carmel, CA last summer watching the waves crash against the black rock along Pt. Lobos State Reserve. Perhaps soon, I’ll get a break. I like the insight you gathered from Mark 6. Packed with so much activity. And Jesus needed rest. Thank you for stopping in.
Blessings,
Janis
