You Have a Voice

Time is running out. The clock is winding down. The opportunity to use our voice and speak our beliefs is just clicks away. The time to take a stand is now.
We have a privilege, unlike residents in many countries, to make a difference by using our voice to express our preference on the national election. If you need more information, check on the candidate’s voting record by doing a quick Google search or look at Who Runs Gov.com-a glimpse at the candidate from the Washington Post information data base. Libraries have government documents that could help you make your decision.
Much is at stake in this election as measured by the amount of mudslinging and political ads that have bombarded our households through the television medium. The political balance in Congress could change.
But not much has changed since Old Testament days. Remember how the people sang about David after his victory over Goliath? “Saul has slain his thousands, and David his tens of thousands.”1 Samuel 18:7 NIV.
That dance incited Saul and he became jealous of David. The popularity contest was on. Which way were the people leaning? If there were pollsters back in those days, they would have had a field day with this chant.
The Lord had the first and the final word, though, in who would win this campaign. His hand had anointed David.
Before we exercise our voice on Tuesday, let’s make sure we have asked for the Lord’s hand and Spirit to direct out choice.
May God Bless America with His Sovereignty and Grace.
“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place.” 2 Chronicles 7:14&15 NIV
Will your voice be heard at the polls and by the Lord today?
